see title, I want to use cheat codes with my backed up games as the originals are at parents and my mem card buggered up so lost a lot of RPG saves like ffx and ffx2 which took hours each to complete so dont wanna go through that again.

Yes you can.. but you will also need a copy of DVDLoader..

Here's how ya do it..
Load up ARMax or Codebreaker (either one will work)
select game and desired cheats
hit eject (or X on codebreaker) and insert swap magic DVD press eject to close tray
start game with selected cheats
swap magic will laod use swap trick method and insert dvdloader press X
use regular eject again and insert swap magic dvd again press eject to close
when promted press X
now use swap trick method again and insert your chosen game backup
Press X and game will laod with cheats activated..

It's alot of swappin but hopefully the cheats you use can be saved within the game ($$, Stats ect.) so you only have to do it once..

Hi I have tried this method and the games seem to freeze on me during the loading. I normaly don't have problems with these games, just when I try to use ar max evo. I use a version 4. ps2 with swapmagic and fliptop, ar max is the origanl not a back up. can anyone please help me. I want the games to work with codes!!!! thanks

THe method I showed above does work. be sure your using DVDLoader on a dvd-r, NOT CDLoader. if that's not the case, check all your codes for correct entry.

yes I am using dvdloader7all burned onto verbatim dvd+r (I only have a + burner) the codes are downloaded from action replays site through the max drive. I hope I can get this working. some games will now load but then freeze at some points in the game. any other suggestions?

Sounds like a media problem with your +R's Some units won't read any +R's at all others read and lock-up like yours is doing.. Are your games just locking-up when your use the armax codes or do they lock-up when played normal ? could just be dvdloader on +r not workin try to get a hold of dvdloader on a -r, cuz that's the only diffrence and it works great for me..

ya the games are fine without using ar max (just using swap magic) I will go to my in-laws and burn to dvd-R since they have a - drive thanks
