What are you talking about?
Your post makes absolutely no sense.
Do you mean in "My Computer", your CD Rom drives aren't displayed?
Please be consise and detailed.

I am having a problem to Talel's. It may be related to XP SP2. I am experiancing the problem on 3 different computers (all SP2), I did not have the problem prior to SP2. I run Norton Anti Virus on all units. I have not tried "Safe Mode". Like Talel, audio CD's play fine, I can burn MP3s to CD format, but if I insert a data cd, when you try and veiw the files on the cd there seem to be none. I first noticed the problem when I inserted a MS Office 2000 cd to get updates installed, computer could not find needed files. Any help would sure be appreciated. Also like Talel, device manager says its functioning properly. Having a similar problem now with USB keys. Keep getting "Access Denied" messages on all three computers with 2 different keys.

from talel
trying to access the drives(floppy disket, cdrom, cdrom burner i am getting
"drive not found".In safe mode there is no problem.
To day i did install win XP (and i kept the win 2000) and again ther is no problem to access the drives.
So it might be that some software is the couse to it!!!

More than likely it's software, and usually CD burning software that's screwed up the Registry.
There are Registry hacks, but they're a last resort.
Just keep checking your CD drive as you install software to pin-point the culprit.
