hixy Oct 23, 2004, 09:51 AM hello folks first post,ive got a game working fine the only problem is its in german.it tells me to replace the cab.dat files for english.can some one tell me how to do this.sorry no good at IT thanks in advance hixy :) Insomniac Oct 23, 2004, 05:23 PM It should just be a simple matter of copying and pasting the English "cab.dat" into the games folder in C:\ Program Files \ *Name of Game* to replace the encumbered German one. I have the same problem. How do i do for changing the fifa 2005 language. It tells me to replace "cab.dat" file... but I don't find it on the installed game, and I don't find it on the CD I have downloaded. In dir FIFA\data\cmd\fe\ is the file ger.db. Delete it and file eng.db rename to ger.db. In dir FIFA\data\audio\ you can see file dat_ger.big. This is probably german commentary file. I didnt find the english one. To change language: -first, delete the files ger.db and germany.trm which are found in c:\...fifa2005\data\cmn\fe -then rename the following files rename eng.db to ger.db rename england.trm to germany.trm To change to eng commentary: 1. Go to your FIFA 2005 directory. 2. Open the folder data. 3. Go to the folder audio. 4. You'll see 3 files, named hdr_xxx.big, dat_xxx.big and pbp_xxx.evt. 5. The xxx is replaced by the language of your version. Dutch = dut, German = ger, Spanish = spa et cetera. 6. Rename the files in this zip file in the same way, so the names are identical. 7. Unpack the renamed files into the audio folder. 8. Launch the game and enjoy! Also when i play online everything is in German, is there not something that can completely change all German to English. If them files at that link exist then is there another way of getting them because i cannot access the link.
