so, this worked
but all of a sudden this cdrw drive won't read any cds!!
when i rightclick and select "eject" i get the tray.
so it's communicatinG!!!
and also in hardware settings it says that this device works normally

What burning software are you using? etc, etc.

You may have the computer in front of you and know what is going on, but we don't.
