hello all...sometimes my cd programs (like burning and ripping programs) take a LONG time to open up...it wasn't always this way but recently it has becoming more and more frequent...i'll double click on the program and it will open up, up to five minutes later...but if i'm waiting and then i reboot my computer the programs will open up right before it shuts down...

i've tried defragging, spyware programs, and virus scanners to find the problem...but to no avail...it seems if i open the programs right after my computer has been turned on i don't have a problem..but the longer the computer is on the greater the chance i'll have this delay...can anyone help me figure out what the problem is...here are the specs of my system...thank you...

Dell Dimension 4600i
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
Ram 768
Processor Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz
Samsung CD-R/RW SW-252S
HL-DT ST DVD-ROM GDR8162B
NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A (External USB Device)

It could be SpyWare and/or something loading with Windows and swallowing your resources.

Go to Start, Run and type in msconfig and go to the start up tab.

What programs do you have listed?
