Hello! I use a Pentium 3 1.2Ghz processor and 512 ram on my vaio laptop (windows xp home edition). I just bought a photosmart printer 7960. When I go ahead to install the printer software, it says that It is recommended that I get at least service pack 1 for my machine, because I have none. I have turned on windows update on my laptop and I keep trying to find on the internet and the microsoft page that damn service pack 1 or 2 to download it but it is never clear where exactly is it. The machine has downloaded thru Windows update several files but none of them seems to be that service pack...

I dont know what to do....or how to resolve the problem and install the printer software. If I skip the warning about the service pack, and I continue, then the procedure proceeds, but it stops at 18% for Very long time...I suppose it is because of lack of service pack 1 or 2.

What would you recommend me to do?? or how can I find that service pack??

I have found , you have to install all the critical updates 1st , before you can get sp1 or 2 .

If you dont want to have to conect to the MS Server and download SP2 you can download the whole file from the site HERE (http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/13/9/13-9-177.shtml)

thankx guys, i have already installed sp1 from a site I found and it really didnt create any problems to me, the printer works now fine and believe me the pics it prints are owesome.

That's not true??

All Micro$$oft Service Packs are cumulative, meaning SP2 contains everything prior including SP1 and so on.

You can just use SP2 on an unpatched system as it contains all previous critical patches and Service Packs.

Blocking re-install of Limewire. Don't know why..had it installed and working and then it just quit and can't figger how to re-install. Any ideas??
