Hello! I'm having a problem with my Gamecube! It WILL connect to my PC, HOWEVER, after it's connected, it asks for the DNS query. It stays a while, then the Gamecube goes to the screen that says at the DNS query had no responce and that the server may be down or might be having maintenence. I took down the firewall and got a some responce. The GC BBA works, the PC NIC card works and the cable is a CAT5E. What is wrong now? How come when PSUL askes for a DNS querey it can't get it? Any help would be perfect! Thank you!

Is it a direct Gamecube to PC connection? because if it is, you will need a cross over cable instead of the standard cat5 network cable.

Yes, is it s DIRECT link to the PC. I have a CAT5E cable. What's the differentce between that and a crossover cable? Is that like a standard ethernet cable? Because if so, I've tried that and it didn't really work. If not, then please, could you direct me to a link where I can purchase this crossover cable?
Thank you VERY much for your help!

You should be able to find a crossover at most places where you can find cat5 network cables.
A crossover cable (im pretty sure) has 4 wires that are "crossed over" it would link the transmit with the recieve cables instead of the transmit to transmit and recieve to recieve with a standard network cable.
