I currently have Windows XP Professional installed and I would like to format my computer. How do I do it, I would probably need a step by step guide if anyone has the time to write one out for me.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Your XP Pro disk can do it for you if you boot from the CD drive. Choose the option to select you own partition during setup.

alternatively, the old fashioned way by using a separate Floppy Boot Disk there is a guide here:

Put your XP Pro disk in the drive and reboot your PC.

If you see a message saying Boot from CD.. press any key and you're away.

If not, you will need to go into BIOS and select the boot sequence from there.

There are so many BIOS' around and there is no standard menu but look for options to select which device to boot from and which order.

You will see something along the lines of Floppy, HDD0, CDROM and a few others like HDD1, HDD2, SCSI.

Whaen you find that menu, move CDROM to the top (First device) then choose floppy, then choose HDD0.

Save and reboot withthe XP Pro disk in the drive
