I do not have that much knowledge of computers and CD rewriters at all so any help will be greatly appreciated!

I have a LG Cd-rewriter, and it worked fine before, but have just formatted my hard drive (or restored the master picture on my computer as my computer manufacturers put it). Now, i reads CDs fine, but when I try to burn music from Windows Media Player or Roxio it justs ejects the CD and says there is an error.

The Roxio program is saying something like "TrackWriter Error - CD Read Failed". When I go to record, it manages to write table of contents, and then i notice the buffer level go down from 15% down to 0%, the CD gets ejected and that error notice comes up.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

By the way I have Windows 98 2nd Ed if that helps.

i'm not sure whether it'll work or not, but one port of call might be microsoftupdate.com.
if reformatting the hard drive has changed or removed any files needed to burn properly, then an update might correct it. you might also like to try reinstalling your cdr software, as paths etc may have changed i guess. actually i'd try that first.
