Im having problems getting a hitachi parallel cdom drive to work in windows the model number is the cdr-8130. It is driving me up the wall trying to get this thing to work but it won't. Ive downloaded several drivers from searches I have done but they have don didly squat. The PC is a laptop and is running windows 95, If anyone can help I will be greatfull!!!!!!.

Only guessing but have you tried going into the BIOS to make sure the parallel port is on EPP+SPP mode? It most likely needs to be bi-directional communication which EPP or SPP will provide, then try the drivers again.
Only guessing though.
