just installed a duo2 into a v9 console
it will boot dvd movie backups and ps2 backups and original ps2 games but wont boot original dvd movies ,have been told that the chip has to be in mode 2 ie chip disabled for them to work ,only problem when i hold reset from standby, as soon as the blue cloud screen comes up the console turns off and goes back to standby is there certain points on the mb that controll this with a duo2 if so where are they or have i just got a dud chip

Your chip is probably OK. It takes a certain amount of time when you hold reset until the console is turned off. Let go of the reset button just before that and it should work.
