I am in the midst of transferring alot of VHS to my tabletop DVD Recorder. Being that VHS has such a low picture quality when compared to DVD - am I really losing any VHS video quality if I record it in, lets say, LP speed vs SP speed?
Thanks!

Yes you are losing video quality but it is almost negligible. When I do it with both LP and SP, I can only tell a very slight difference when it's transferred to DVD. Hope this helps.

I forgot about the DVD recorder part of your message...when I record videotape to put on a DVD, I use my video card. I've never used a DVD recorder so maybe there is a big difference in the resulting DVD quality...but I doubt it. Good luck!

LP works great for me but I have a Panasonic dvd recorder & it has special filters.
Why don't you try it & see?
