alright, yes ive already read all the other recycle bin posts, i swear :)
ok my recycle bin automatically deletes ANYTHING that i drag into it, right-click and delete, press the key, anything
the prompt i get asks me if i "want to delete x"
i have messed with the settings on the right-click properties thing for the bin, i know all the settings, and i have set them in all combinations and back again to no avail
i have norton but there is no interaction with the recycle bin, its disabled

no clue what to do

(now dont laugh becuase im still learning but i did have this crazy idea of having some friend export thier registry files for their bin to me and me replacing mine with theirs, do you think that would work / how do i do it?)

what OS are you running ? I assume Xp, are you sure there aint a tick in the box on the properties global tab to delete immediatly and not into the recycle bin ? you could also try to remove norton and see if that fixes your problem

yea i played with all the options in there a bunch and got no where

and im not too big on the uninstalling norton idea; ive had norton for quite a while and its never been an issue until now

Try this:

Open a Command Prompt window (Start > Run > Cmd) and leave it open. Close all open programs.

Click Start, Run, enter taskmgr and press OK in order to bring up Task Manager.
Next, go to the Processes tab and End Process on Explorer.exe.
That will leave you with a blank desktop, but don't worry...

Leave Task Manager open. Go back to the Command Prompt window , and type: rd /s c:\recycler in order to delete your Recycle Bin.
Answer Yes when prompted to confirm deletion.

NOTE: that command reads "rd (space)/s (space) c:\recycler"

Go back to Task Manager, click File > New Task and enter EXPLORER.EXE to restart the GUI shell. Close Task Manager.

Restart your computer normally. A new Recycle Bin will automatically be created.

It worked for me. I'm also running Norton Systemworks 2003.
