i have different movies on my computer in different formats. First of all i don't know how to tell what kind of format they are in. some are great quality like a dvd(divx i believe) and some are movies that look like people went in a theater and taped it or something. Now, i am using the software that came with my dvd burner, ulead dvd movie factory 3.5 suite deluxe. now the divx files are all too big (bigger than 4.7 gigs) how can i make them fit on one cd?? Also the crappier quality movies are a lot smaller and usually in multiple parts. Now that software lets me combine the parts, so i did that and then burned, but then when i play my burned cd the menu works, i hit play, then it stays at the menu and plays the sound, but no video just stays on the menu, why is this happening?? Any help would be great, also i posted a thread to help with dma setting issues and thanks to the help i got thats all ok now, thanks a lot.

Alright are you using CD-R or DVD-R media? Also i would look for the software DVDshrink, it allows you to cut out any unwanted formats of audio or video not needed. This allows you to make the overall size smaller to fit on a DVD-R 120min, 4.7 media. DVDshrink allows you to cut unwanted subtitles or foriegn language tracks of audio, or it will even allow you to remove the warnings sub-menus and all sorts of things even the extra footage. look for it on the web you can get it for free if you look. Also I have had success using Alcohol 120 and Nero to burn my movies to verbatim movie digital media.
