Hi troops my pioneer 107 finally packed up and through impatiance instead of waiting for the 109 to come out I went and bought the above writer. After one week I have not managed to burn 1 disc satisfactory it either jumps misses bits out or i get lipsink. I havent changed any software or made any changes to my computer. Have I done something wrong or have I just bought a crap burner. If anybody has a similiar burner prehaps they could enlighten this glas hopper on what to do. thanks in advance bob

Do you have the latest firmware installed?

http://www.cdrinfo.com/forum/tm.asp?m=96319&mpage=1&key=

If the drive is brand new, it probably shipped with the latest firmware, but maybe not. What burning software do you use? If you have Nero, open it and go to Recorder, then Choose Recorder on the toolbar. Choose the DVDR1620K/00. Under Firmware Revision, you'll see the firmware version. Compare this to the latest firmware mentioned in the URL listed above.

No problem. The Pioneer DVR-109 is already available:
http://www.bestbargainpc.com/nedv16xdvb.html

You can find other online retailers at:

www.pricewatch.com

If your local retailer is going to carry it, I'd get it through them.
