Sorry to be a pain in the a55, by god I've tried to get my head round this but Im being a bit thick!

I want to transfer game patches (specifically an option file for Pro Evolution Soccer 4) to my xbox from my pc. I have ordered a cross over cable and thats about as far as I understand Im afraid. Im hearing/reading stories about modding etand Im a bit paranoid about screwing the xbox up (which happens to be my sons!, deep sh1t from "her indoors" if i break it!).

So to cut a long story short, how can i transfer game patches over to my xbox from my pc? Any help greatly appreciated and will also save my wife from castrating me for breaking my childs new xmas pressie!!!

Thanks in advance, CFCBOY

In order to transfer anything to the xbox, you must first exploit or mod it. There are exploits that allow you access to the xbox without having to open it at all. The best is the uber exploit. It has auto installers that work with certain games. e.g. Splinter Cell, 007: Agetn Under Fire, Mech assault

The somftmod (uber exploit) is a memorycard save that automatically installs the exploit to the xbox hard drive allowing you to gain access via ftp and evolution x.

On the other hand there are modchips which have advanced to the point that there are some solderless alternatives to soldering, but are more troublesome to install (even the ones that are solderless). These require that you open the xbox (thus voiding the warranty) to install. Based upon your experience soldering, this may be as easy or complex as your skills determine. You can find modchips by doing a google search.

You can find more information and instructions at xbox-scene dot com.

hope this helps.
