I am all new to this and just got my xbox in Nov./04. I have read alot on modding, but I do not feel I could do it. I am asking for a installer in the Surrey/delta area.
Thank you

If your not comfortable with soldering, lord knows I'm not, try softmodding. Works just as good as a chip, you just go about things a little differently. I own two xbox's, one with an executor 3 and one softmodded. I like both of them just as well as the other.

Yup, my softmodded xbox currently has a samsung SP1213N 120 gb drive in it. Works well. You don't even have to take your xbox apart, unless of course you want to put in a bigger hd. You can find lots of softmod info at xbox-scene.

Ok, I will look into that.Do I still have to lock the hdd? That hole locking and unlocking is the part that gets me messed up. Finding the new dashboard is not easy. I will keep looking. The main part for me is to put a bigger hdd. So I can back up the games to the hdd, so that my kids don't scratch the org. I would also like to view my pictures though it on my tv.
Thank you

yeah, you would still need to lock the hd, it's no sweat though. I was totally confused about it when I first started and I actually thought I hosed an xbox on my first attempt, but because I followed the tutorial from xbox-scene, I was able to recover by botch. drop me an email at xbinfo at hush dot com if your interested and I will send you some good links. Once you know where to go, finding dashboards isn't that hard.
