This may be a little cumbersome but this is how I do it and it has never failed me. Stuff you will need: 1. a copy of Ltools v1.9 with UDE v1.4 this can be found in what is called the usual places. 2. a computer that is capable of booting from a cdrom. 3. a copy of your eeprom.bin file, get this by running the evox backup menu option, also make a backup copy of your c and e drive as well.
Once you have this, make the cd according to the instructions provided in the ltools download package be sure to include the eeprom.bin file in the eeprom folder and your c and e drive backups as well. If you made a backup of your currently modded drive, you won't have to do any mods, they will already be there. Next take your new hard drive and install it into the computer by itself. Boot to the cd. At the prompt, press enter. at the next prompt, type xboxhd and press enter. at the next prompt, choose build xbox hd from scratch. Follow the instructions till it finishes. At some point, it will ask you if you would l;ike to install an F drive, choose yes. Once its done. Type reboot and wait till your back at the prompt. If you put your original MS c and e drive files on the cd, include this step, other wise, skip to locking the drive. Press enter at the prompt and at the next prompt type UDE -UDE1 or UDE2, preferably UDE2 but only if your xbox is ntsc, also make sure to capitalize the command. Follow the instructions till done. Type reboot again. Once rebooted, choose option 3, Linux with locking unlocking utilities and press enter. At the next prompt, type lockhd -a and press enter. When it says it's done, power down and take your new hd to your xbox, install and enjoy.

For anyone else that has the question about burning Ltools, once you unpack the files and place your c, e, and eeprom.bin files in the appropriate places, in the main directory where Ltools was extracted, will be a make-iso-win.bat file, double click that to create a file names linux.iso. Once you have the iso, use your burning software and specify that you want to burn an image file. Point it to the linux.iso file that was created and burn it.

Hope this helps

From the earlier post where it was mentioned all there was was a udata folder, this is the game save exploit and not the Ltools program that I was referencing. The actual name of the program is called xboxhdm and it was put together by Ltools. He has made several tools to make sofmodding xbox's easier, so it is easy to get confused as to which package to get. So if your looking to burn the cd, get xboxhdm.
