Hi, i recently bought a router for my p.c, i hook up the xbox to my p.c and used flashfxp to ftp into the xbox but i keep getting the message connection timed out, can anyone help PLEASE :madhack:

Routers typically come with their DHCP server turned on by default. This means that the router is expecting to assign IP addresses to devices assigned to it. You would want to use a straight ethernet cable for the devices connected to it as well. Make sure that in the tcp/ip settings of your computer is set to DHCP or obtain automatically for the IP address and DNS. On you Xbox, if your using Evox, go into the settings under the network settings and change static from yes to no. Save these settings. Your xbox and PC should now be on the same subnet and have the same IP scheme, not the same IP address, but something like this, computer=192.168.1.2 xbox=192.168.1.3 or similiar. Once this is true, you should have no trouble connecting via FTP. Hope this helps |
