:luxhello: I'm taking my cdg using cdrwin, ripping the tracks to bin, I then use mp3toolz4 to convert to mp3. In order to use this with sax and dotty hoster do i need to use the toolz to zip the bin file and if i do how do i go about nameing the song and when do i do that. I hope i'm not confusing you with the way i;m asking about this cause i know i am confusing myself.

Before converting your bin files, check them to be sure that the graphics and audio are fine. Rename the bin files as you see fit or subscribe to the KJPro database.

Use the toolz to convert the bin files to zip. This will separate the cdg and compress the audio into a zip file with the same name as your bin.

Version 4 huh? I am not sure if Sax n dottys can play from zips created with version 4 of the toolz... for the record, can anyone else verify?

:)

Yes. There is no difference in the files created.

Holler, First thanks for replying so soon. Let me try this again.
1. I have cdrwin 4.0 ( Golden Hawk )
2. I could not get mp3toolz 4 to work, So i now have mp3toolz3.0
3. When i open cdrwin, Where the (Image Filename is) I have the name of the folder where the track is going. Example (C:New Songs/CB90219-01) or do i have to put the disk number, Artist, Song title their to. After i rip the song and i go to the folder i see CB90219-01.bin.
4.Do i use toolz to (bin to mp3+g) or do i use (bin to zip). But still i need to know at what time when or where to name the tracks. I am doing all of this using windows me, On my other comp i run Windows XP home and every time i downloaded mp3+g toolz and tried to install it would give me a error message and would not install. This was mp3+gtoolz 3.0 or mp3+gtoolz4 either one would not install (don't know why). But anyway if you can help it would be appreciated.

I kept getting an error when using the bin to zip convertor in MP3+GToolz 4.0, with XP Pro SP2, and sent customer support an e-mail. I haven't heard back from them yet. Every other conversion seems to work, though.

P.S. Does CDRWin 4.0 even work with CD+G? I thought only the 3.X series was CD+G compatible.

I haven't had any problem with 4.0 cdrwin, once you select the track and then make shure cdg is checked it will rip all the tracks or just the one you want.
PS. How you doing :wavey:

 Still truckin...

I guess I didn't realize that CDRWin 4.0 is three years old! I'm using 3.9H which is the latest version. Strange that they'd go backwards numerically.

Yeah... 4.0a of CDRwin is much older than 3.9. 4 was some sort of a pre-release. Version 5 will not work for CD+G.

You will have to rename the track at the end of step 3. CB90219-01.bin would become CB90219-01 - Artist - Song.bin for example. From there, you use the toolz to convert the .bin files to zip. Sax n Dotty's will play the mp3+g right out of the zip.

.NET framework is required for a version 3 or 4 to work with XP. You can get that through windows update (about 20 meg).

Hmmmmm... what burner make and model number are you using?

Holler, I'm using plexter 40/12/40A , also have the DVD716A which is super. For any body making the scdg it is quick if you are using the DVD716A. Holler i will try this again, and i do appreciate the help.

Holler, I got this finally to work, My problem was i just didn't read the notes that you had posted in karaoke playground right. This was my fought. But i still have a little problem. When i use mp3+gtoolz to zip it hangs up from that point. The only way i can get it to clear is (CTRL ALT Delete) so it will end the task. What could be up with that. It does it everytime. If you can throw some ideas on what might be making it hang up. Thank you for your help. :bouncing: :bouncing:

To your first question above...

"When i use mp3+gtoolz to zip it hangs up from that point"

Is this conversion from .bin, and which version of toolz are you using (I think it was 3)? As an alternate, you can manually zip your files using winzip.

I see in a recent posting that you say you've used the plextor 716a for scdg and that you like it. Right now I'm waiting for mine to arrive and I was wondering if you could give me some suggestions on making back-up copies. Was is difficult to use? What software did you use? I'm new to this and I can use all the help I can get. Thanks in advance for your help.

HI THER DONT WORY ITS EASY TO DO THERS LOADS OF SOFTWHER OUT THER TO DO IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR WONTING TO DO ?
E.G DISC TO DISC OR CONVERT MP3+G TO (BIN FILE) OR READY TO PLAY
CD+G.

I USE CLONE CD TO COPY DISC TO DISC AS ITS TRYED AND TESTED 9 OUT OF 10 FOR QUOLITY . BUT MP3+G THEN GET MP3+GTOOLZ.NET AS ITS FAST AND 100% EASY TO USE .

BUT AFTER ALL THIS THEN GO TO WWW.KARAOKEPLAYGROUND.CO.UK
AND THIS WILL DO YOU THE WORLD OF GOOD

Stick with the PlexTools for CD+G disk to disk copying. As I've said, it's made specifically for Plextor drives.

As for everything else...CDGMAN is correct. CloneCD in conjunction with MP3+GToolz is a great combo.

Maddhatter62

P.S. I too use the PX-716A to compile/copy SCDGs. It works very well.
