Hey everyone,
I got a copy of Enter the Matrix Platinum Hits version that I am trying to make a backup copy of so I don't ruin the original. My Xbox is softmodded using PBL MeToo bios loader, m8+ bios running unleashx 0.37.1218a as my dashboard with a 120 gb samsung hd. I copied the disk to the hd and when I run it, I hear the audio, but I get no video. It gets to the point to where I can hear it say atari and it quits at that point. I have tried the copy game to disk option in unleashx and dvd2xbox, both results are the same. I have found that it has something to do with long file names and there are patched available for the regular version, but I tried the patches anyway, but they did not work. The original disk plays fine. Anyone have any ideas?

Hey Shady, glad to see I'm not the only one. I have read several forums and they all talk about the original version. I can't find any info on the Platinum hits version at all. Thats one of the reasons I tried the patches for the original version, thinking maybe it would work any way, but some of the file names are different than what the patches look for and it ends up quitting because it can't find the file names that it is looking for. So, I guess we just keep using our original disk for now and keep digging.... :(

well, don't bother trying to copy the original onto your xbox hdd , just ftp it straight to your computer, then generate a filelist from the dir you have the game files in and work your way through the it looking for the long file names (or just work your way through the files looking for filenames longer than 42 characters). once you know what the filenames are, you can try editing the default.xbe in a hexeditor to shorten all references to those long file names, making sure you pad out with 00 (zeros) to preserve file integrity.
