What exactly does "supports RAW 96" mean? And how do I go about finding out if my PC is capable of that? I have a HP Pavilion 533w, model P9859A with Windows XP. Thanks to everyone in advance for your patience about my lack of know-how. Irish-Lass :round:

It depends on the make and model number of your burner. Click start / settings / control panel / system / hardware / device manager

Click on the + beside dvd/cd-rom drives.

What is the make and model number of your burner? Type out what is listed.

You want to know if your drive reads/writes CD+G, correct? Look at the line Supports writing of CD+G RAW-DAO: No

I may be wrong, but I think that means it won't. Am I right about this, Holler?

I was hoping that I would be able to try and back up some of my cdg with the equipmment that I have now while I,m waiting for my plextor to get here. I am just so anxious to get started. Now I know this is a very "beginner" question , so please bear with me,is installing the plextor going to be a big job and do I need to be concerned about PC Compatability issues
(Plextorpx716a)? Thanks, Irish-Lass
P.S. You guys are awesome!

It's pretty much install drive, load software, and burn. I looked up your Pavilion, and I'm pretty sure it meets the minimum requirements for the PX-716A. Look on page two of the datasheet (link below) for system requirements, and compatible/recommended blank media.

Yeah... it appears that the combo drive does not support RAW 96 (CDGraphics).

Nods... your computer should be fine with the Plextor. CDRwin supports the 716a with it's latest version released a couple days ago (3.9k).

You can do it all with CDRwin and your Plex. Full instructions on backing up CD+G, ripping single tracks and burning single tracks here:

I guess I'll just hang tight till it gets here. I'll be back if I get stuck.
Thanks again for your help and patience.
