I have a chipped xbox and my friend has a soft modded one. He also has a 160 gig Hard Drive in his computer that he wants to put in his xbox. If I was to run slayers auto Installer 2.6 with my XBOX on the 160 Gig AND transfer all the files from his original hard drive would the soft mod still be in tact? Holla Back!

he can upgrade his own hd using the auto Installer 2.6 y go through the extra step of running it on yours? all you need is the backup folder off of his, and you can use slayers or xbox hardrive maker to utilize the bigger hd.

So all I need from his is the backup folder I created with the softmod? Would slayers run with a softmod? If I was to swap HD's would it still be capable of running burned games?

You would need your backup files top provide you with the HD locking key. This is something that you don't have to worry about with a chipped xbox. But is something that you have to worry about with a softmodded xbox.

This is the way I do softmod hd upgrades. Here is what you will need. A copy of the file form the backup called eeprom.bin and a copy of the C and E files. Once you get those, get xboxhdm and put the c, e and eeprom.bin files in their perspective places and make an iso according to it's instructions and burn the image to disk. Once you have your disk, put the HD that your upgrading to into a computer by itself as master and boot the the cd. Use the instructions to build an xbox hd from scratch, modify it and then lock it.

You might be able to use slayer's disk although I am not familiar with it.

Once this is done, put the drive into the xbox and enjoy. You will be able to play backups or anything else that you would want to do.
