Hey,

Today I reinstalled windows (xp professional) on my pc...Before doing this i could click on My Computer and at the top of the list, under the heading "Files Stored on This Computer" i would see Shared Documents, Peter's Documents (Peter is the "administartor"), and also similar folders for the 2 other accounts on my pc. (Dunno why I actually have the different accounts since in my family we always just log onto the administartor account, but whatever....). Now after having reinstalled I see only Shared Documents and Peter's Documents. Im pretty sure all accounts (besides the one administartor account) are "limited" meaning that they are not hidden from the other users. Id really appreciate it if someone could tell me how I can make the documents folders for the other accounts show up in My Computer.

p.s. when i go to start>run whats the thing I gotta type to be able to manage which programs start up when the computer boots?

thanks in advance,

Vincent

Sounds like you were logged in as an administrator before, that meant you could see everyone else's 'my documents' folders. Now I think you're logged in with more limited rights meaning you can't see them. What happens if you log in as one of the other users?
Having said that, are they actually still there on the login page? Depending on how you've re-installed it's possible that the other users profiles have been deleted.

The proper way to configure the services (which is what you want to do) is to right click on 'My Computer' select 'manage' from the drop down menu, then select 'Services & applications' then 'services'. The dirty way is to type msconfig into the run command box.

Thanks for replying, but I actually managed t figure it out. Seems that because all I had done was create the other accounts, but I never tried logging into them, they hadn't been properly recognized or something. After logging into both and going back to the administarator account it was the way I wanted it.

And i think ill stick to the dirty way of changing those setting cause I dont think I can remember that other 10 step process.....

thanks
