Hello, I am having a problem and I'm not sure what to do. The fan on my motherboard, the one with the 8X is making a super loud noise. It's been doing it for a little over three days now. I unplugged it for a quick sec to make sure that's the one causing the noise and it is. I've replaced case fans before but can this one be replaced? The computer runs fine but the noise is getting worse and I don't want it to get any worse. I saw a thread about this exact problem I believe but for some reason the page wouldn't open for me to check if the person ever solved the problem. Any help is appreciated.

You will have to replace the fan.

You could try putting a drop of oil in it, but that won't fix it.

The noise will eventually come back if it even goes away.

Just buy a replacement fan and change it, they aren't very expensive.

Also, not a good idea running the computer with it unplugged.

It's plugged in still, Ionly had it unplugged for a minute to see if that's where the noise was coming from. I'll try to find a store that has them.

Thanks
