Ok I was trying to fix a computer. It's a dell dimensions 4100, P3 1.0Ghz loaded with windows 2000. The problem is it just stays on the dell screen when I turn it on. It doesn't even seem to go through POST. No beeps or anything. I can't get into bios. I already reseated the memory, and even tried putting in different memory, and that didn't work. I reseated all the expansion cards. Plugged out the hard drive, and tried a different one, but to no avail. Is the motherboard shot?

To get into the BIOS press the DEL key:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dzuul/syssetup.htm

failing that....

Try resetting the BIOS:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dzuul/techovu.htm#system_board_connectors_and_sockets
Change the jumper to pins 2/3 and power up.
You can also pull the power plug & CMOS battery, give it a few minutes then put them back and power up.

I already tried that, but forgot to write it in the thread. Don't worry about it. It was a company computer. We just stripped it for parts.
