i have had this drive for just under a year, was working ok till this morning

it is not recognising any disc i put in the drive, can anyone point me as to what could be wrong

it is showing as working in device manager

please help me

Bummer... sounds like a normal case of your laser biting the dust.
You can try to flash the firmware (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/article/0,,2076_4273_128163990,00.html) but odds are good the drive is toast.

as ive said it aint even a year old

is this normal with 108's?

I have not heard about this being much of a problem with any Pioneer drive. Doing a bit of Google searching didn't show any major trends either.
But it can and does happen sometimes. The drive should still be under warranty though right?

yes m8 it is under warranty gonna take it back to shop

there is defo no way it could be a software problem?

well you could rule out that your Windows shell is borked by trying to read a disc with isobuster (http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/)

If isobuster can't read a disc and explorer can't then your drive is fried.
