Got a ACER 640a-172 which i want as the master and a LTN(Lite-on Tech)-301 which I want as the slave.

On the ribbion strip...which should be drive 0 and which should be drive 1.

Also does anyone have or can direct me to jumpers settings to do this.

Thanks in adavance.

put the acer on as the master and the liton as the slave, if your thinking of copying on the fly, then really you should be thinking of putting them on seperate ribbon cables and not both on the same one.

The jumper settings are usually quite clearly marked on the CDdrives

Master - slave and CSL

Drive 1 and Drive 0 are not correct terms.

It is always best to have the 2 ROM drives on seperate IDE cables to stop any conflicts.

Drivers for the acer 640a-172??? These use IDE drivers already installed in Windows, you dont need to install or do anything with these!
