Which has better sound? Let's just compare the optical out feature only because the Maya is better in terms of avail ports...

go with the MAYA.. Creative sucks.

Trust me, I compose music in my home studio and you cant use Creative Lab stuff for what I do, just aint flexible enough, nor has same sound quality as more pro stuff on the market.
