tbbd Jun 05, 2005, 01:17 AM I read this tutorial that said I should rip a CD into BIN files, then convert the BIN into CDG and MP3 files at the same time.
So what do I do if I just have an MP3 file to start with and no CD? How do you get CDG files from that? Once you have an MP3 file and a CDG file, what happens next?
I have never made a karaoke disc before, so really don't even know what to do. I have Nero and a Plextor PX-716A.
Holler Jun 05, 2005, 10:33 AM You would have to create graphics. There are a few programs to do that with.
www.powerkaraoke.com
www.dartpro.com
www.mtu.com
are a couple of them. Demos availiable on site.
:)
tbbd Jun 05, 2005, 03:59 PM Ok, that was the stuff I was looking for to create my own, but I really suck at synchronizing the text to the song :) . So, I downloaded some MP3 (with vocals already removed) and the CDG file to go with it....what I do with those 2 files to put them on a CD and use them in my karaoke machine?
tbbd Jun 05, 2005, 07:17 PM I read some more things about converting those 2 files (MP3 and CDG) into a BIN file, then burning them with CDRWin....my burner is not support so it won't burn using that. Then I tried using WinISO to convert the BIN file to an ISO image and burn it with Nero, but it says that the BIN file is not a supported format.....I'm really lost as what to do next. Any sugg?
MrMusician2005 Jun 06, 2005, 01:23 PM hey man, your plextor is supported by CDRWIN.. make sure you have the 3.9K version.. the previous versions did not support it.
Holler Jun 06, 2005, 10:09 PM *Nods...
Use the latest version of CDRwin (3.9k) from http://www.goldenhawk.com/ and try a burn in demo mode.
Once you have your bin files and a cue sheet, click here for complete instructions:
http://www.karaokeplayground.co.uk/help/help.htm
Use the help files for CDRwin.
:)
tbbd Jun 06, 2005, 10:52 PM Ok, I downloaded the latest version, it does support my Plextor (thanks). I used PowerKaroke to make a BIN file (did one from scratch) and I also used to convert an exisintg CDG and MP3 to BIN. So I have 2 BIN files, I used the PowerKaraoke CUE sheet creater and made a CUE sheet for those 2 BIN files. Followed the instructions on that webpage for Burning CD+G using CdRWin and it burnt 2 CDA files. I also tried the option of "load tracks, selected CD+G format, and added the 2 BIN files...same thing, it burns 2 CDA files.
Well, I'm getting there a little at a time, thanks for all the help so far by the way
Holler Jun 07, 2005, 09:12 PM What you see on the disk with explorer is perfectly normal. A CD+G disk looks like any other regular audio CD when looked at that way.
Does the music play with the graphics showing?
:)
tbbd Jun 08, 2005, 08:34 PM No, when I go into the player that comes with the PowerKaraoke studio and select browse option to pull up the CD, it doesn't show any valid files on the CD (BIN), and when I put it in a player machine, ti says error on the display
maddhatter62 Jun 08, 2005, 08:36 PM Can you see the graphics?
tbbd Jun 08, 2005, 08:57 PM I think we were posting about the same time there..no I don't see any graphics, I can play the sound as an audio CD though....see the text from Post 9
Holler Jun 09, 2005, 11:07 AM Test your disk using LD Player for your PC. Links and setup instructions on the help page at the playground.
There are 2 different players for powerkaraoke. One is a software player (.bin player) and the other software is the disk player. Use either LD Player as above or Power Karaoke Player Pro (the trial will let you test a disk on your pc) here: http://www.powerkaraoke.com/src/dnl_eval.php
Use the plextor as a playback device. Since the audio is playing fine, your are burning your disk correctly. BTW... what is the make and model number of your karaoke player, and does it support CD+G (it must say so in the manual)?
