How much do you want to spend, and what will be it's main use? jtenzo Jun 22, 2005, 11:57 PM If you want to go the cheap route on a P4 go Dell. Just don't upgrade to much. Get a good deal on there promos. That's my 2 cents. Of course I built mine. matsuilui Jun 23, 2005, 06:21 AM Computers are like cars, depreciation is murder, pay £1500 for a machine today and it'll be worth £500 in no time... If you cant build or upgrade what you have yourself try looking at second user branded machines.. Compaq for instance, say what you like but in my experience their like tanks and very rairly fail or give you any major problems. All depends on what you want and where you want to go.. my two bob... :bouncing: Patnut Jun 27, 2005, 07:50 AM If you want to go the cheap route on a P4 go Dell. Just don't upgrade to much. Get a good deal on there promos. That's my 2 cents. Of course I built mine. I agree totaly. I recently purchased the Dell 8400 does everything super fast no complaint 1 week delivery good support so far. I was also in ur position trying to decide weather to build or not but could only see the real advantage in building being satisfaction I built my own machine. For me the negatives out wayed the positives it would be hard to compet with Dell's prices these days and you also have the peace of mind all the components work together along with a 3 year on site 24 reponse time. If you have time on ur hands to tinker around building ur own fair enough but I don't have time to wast. Thanks |
