I was wondering if anyone could help.

I'm planning in installing a few karaoke machines and would like to set up a server system where by a server holds all of the songs and then in each room, the karaoke machines can retrieve songs from the server when needed.

Does anyone have any information on where that has this type of setup is available.

I'm also very interested in making sure the system is compatible with a touch screen.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

You can buy a system like this, they use one at Pontins, Touch Screens in each entertainment room, 2000 songs to choose from or video Juke box, etc etc.... A yuppie version of Kwizoke....

So you have a machine that hold all your karaoke Songs, call it a server, stick an ethernet card in it, or wireless lan card. Use Windows 2000 or XP as the OS professional version if you've got it, an ethernet switch/hub and an ethernet/wireless card in each machine...

Even setting it up as a share would give you access to your songs or even KSLC....

A lead from each PC to the individual amp, and one from each PC to the TV's and your away...

File locking I hear you ask....in the old days you'd worry but not now..

On your server i'd put a Raid enabled hard drive controller card and mirror a couple of disks with your songs on. A PIII processor will be okay for your server....remember memory

Touch screens well thats up to you but not cheap the last time I got a decent unit for stand alone let the punters play with it the cost was around £450 quid tfd if you ask me...I wouldnt do it myself...

My advise would be do it yourself...
