It depends on if the cd-r burn was "finalized", on the previous burn.

That's usually an option when burning that you have to check. Most every burning program has that option somewhere.

If the last burn session was finalized - that closes the disc and additional burning of files is impossible. If not, then more files certainly can be added - it just won't change what's already there.

Just stick the disc in question into the drive. The burning program will tell you if it can be used to add more files or not.
