First; Say "Hello" and introduce yourself, it`s good manners.
Second; try burning the discs at a lower speed, this is the most common cause of playback problems with burned CDs - burning too fast.
If you want your burned audio CDs to be compatible with as many players as possible I suggest burning no faster than 16 x speed, but 8x is better :)

This is a strange situation. Normally if there are going to be problems it's the other way around. The car stereo is normally the one that won't play them.
I'd suggest a change of media. My car stereo will not play CD-R (that's what the manual says), but with either Verbatim Pastels or Super AZO it will work perfectly. The super AZO are usually available in 10packs so not alot wasted if they don't do it for you.
The other thing I've found is that a CD writer is essential, a DVD writer just won't do a good enough job & for me speed is irrelevant. I always used 8 speed for burning these but I've no problem with the CD writers max speed.
Also the burning app might make a difference. I use Roxio Classic Creator or Burrrn, which is free at http://www.burrrn.net/ and is nice and simple and works well.
