I heard that there are upgrades for cd burners. Like, a downloaded software or something... I think it's called "flashing", is this true?

If so, how do I find out what brand drive I have? It came installed w/ my system and has a generic driver. I read someone couldn't burn cdg's and flashed thier drive and now it works. I don't want to voind my waranty by opening my system up, so how do I find out what my drive is and how to find the flash software?

I have been trying to make created karaoke songs with other software and am having no luck, even though nerotools says my burner can handle it, CDRwin says it can't. So, I thought my cdr needs a good flashing (whooo hoo). Help?!?!

Chances are, flashing your burner will not help you burn CD+G.

What is the make and model number of your burner?

And,

What softare do you use to burn your disk?

And,

How are you testing your disk (make and model number of your player)?

Right click my computer / hardware tab / device manager.

Click on the (+) sign beside DVD/CD rom drives, and post what is listed there.

Probably an LG or a LiteOn.
