Well I think most of us would agree that Insomniac has been a total jerk on these forums for years.
Now, to the guy credit, he does sometimes give good advice, but why should we have to put up with five insults for every mediocre piece of advice.

But fear not, Insomniac is only a jerk on forums where there are no mods to keep his adolescent behavior in line. I invite you all to check out some real forums for tech support and more. Best of all I have never seen Insomniac on any of them! :luxhello:

Better? Absolutely not.
How does it help the site? Depends if you mean short term or long term.

Short term: I am just going to make a nuisance of myself and watchdog his posts. There are not mods anymore so this is about as close as we can get.

Long term: Depends if he begins to understand and either tones it down and acts civil or even outright leaves. If either of these occur then this board will be much better off in the long run.

You've been a board member for a while so I am sure you remember that this board used to be something good. It has deteriorated to the point now that we either take a stand a take out the garbage or just let it go down the sh|tter.

I mean, the board has majorly shrunk over the past two years. But go back and look at the people who posted once or twice an never came back. Most of the time they got smart as$ed replies or got jumped all over by some holier-than-thou zealot about the rules of the board.

So not to soap box this, no it is not better, but can it really get much worse?

Yeah I agree that this site has gone way down hill, but if it bothers you that much, be the better man and let it go. Stuff like this just clogs up the site for people who really need help.

Insomniac has provided a great deal of help in here. I agree that some of his comments can be over the top but then again some of the posts in here deserve those kinds of answers, such as the people who ask for cracks or serial numbers to obviously illegaly downloaded software.

And it is irrelevant what I sign in under. I could really not give a crap about my screen name here but truth is I use my normal screen name on a lot of other boards. Boards I have higher respect for. And the last thing I need is you mouthing off on those boards.

Look, I'm not going to continue to clog these threads. As Kurt said it truly is rude to those who need help here. But know that I check these boards a few times a day and I will continue to point out where a little courtesy could have been much more effective.

You do help a lot of people. So why tarnish that by starting crap with people? Like Stepp. Like Handyguy. Like the newbies.
Even if they do ask for warez/cracks/serials/etc, what is wrong with saying "Sorry, this is not that kind of board. You'll need to try somewhere else."?

And if someone gives poor advice then correct them, but don't rip them. No one can be an expert on every facet of computing. And they are here trying to help, that is all. It is not like they are collecting a paycheck or anything.
