No, just look at the problems the industry is having with copy protection being broken days after its been released

yeah..i know.....but my question is...common people....how could i do it? to make a copy protected dvd?......i use these dvds with friends,i dont want them to copy them, they dont know much about computers, protections, etc. (common people)....but having an easy protection for my dvds could make for them not able to copy them......besides knowing that someones with knowledge in computers will be able to do it......

The " common " people huh? At any rate, I think the latest version of Ulead will allow you to put copy protection on your home made DVD's...but I'm not sure. I have the latest version but I haven't used it yet. I'll give it a try in a few hours and let you know. Of course even if it does allow you to put on some sort of macrovision, a little bit of minor research by the commoners will give them all the info they need to overcome this obstacle. I'll let you know in a few hours.

Technically all original store bought DVD's are already copy protected via encryption and macrovision. Ulead cannot do anything more then encrypt and apply macrovision, just like an original.

There is nothing you could possible do to a DVD that a program like DVDShrink or DVDDecrypter or one of the dozen other DVD copy apps can't undo and many "common" people use them.

You're just being a hypocrite. You might as well not share your DVD's with your friends.

Yeah EMDY...maybe I didn't make this clear...you could protect your DVD but just like retail DVD's, the protection can be defeated. At any rate, Ulead will do this for you...give it a try...but like QWERTY said, if you don't want the commoners you copy your DVD's, don't lend them to the commoners. Good luck!

you really think that wasn't my first choice....not to lend them the dvds......come on people...try to just be helpful tecnically, talking about computers and dvds.....and not labeling people as hypocrits just for not wanting a dvd to be able to copy.......
thanks anyway smartguys....

I'm still curious what makes you think anyone would want to copy them.

Unless they were pornos off course.

Then I'd copy them, even if you got Sony, MacroVision and Fort Knox to protect them.

It's very difficult to protect DVD's, and there aren't really many utilities designed for the Home user, it's all mostly commercial products.

The man has already told you twice to try ULEAD (there are a number of applications under that banner). What else do you want him to do... call round and install it for you??
