I have a playstation 2 slim version and i use swap disk to boot dvd-r games (dvd+r rarely works) and i didnt want to mod it out cause of the laser blowout issues. Anyways once it gets warmed up after an hr or so it stops reading dvd-rs all together, after it cools off it will read them again, but while it is hot it will read regular ps2 games, any suggestions would be helpful.

Laser Blow out isue is not with chip's its with junky dvd-r and some slims are faulty V12 need laser fix applyed Chipped or not lasers will blow 3-9 months without it
