Ok this is really starting to piss me off I bought this TDK IndiDVD 440N 4X DVD±R/RW Multi Format DVD Burner and thanks to it I have been able to backup almost all of my DVD movies but recently it has been messing up. I'm using Nero Buring Rom and a green light on the burner stays on to show that it is burning properly but after awhile for given reason the green light will shut off and stop recording and therefore leave a cd useless I have no idea what could be casuing this problem thats why I need your guyes help please help me

Cheers :D

you need to upgrade the firmware first of all

and then get some more memory, you only have a 256 stick in there, and i am not suprised the pc is locking up

try shutting down all other programs whilst burning

firmware is what you upgrade on the burner
when you buy a dvd burner the firmware installed on it contains all the information it needs for it to recognise different types of disks,
when new types of disks are released some burners dont know what they are,so it rejects them, with errors like "unknown media",or the burn failure log will show a bunch of zeros
you must only use the firmware for that particular burner, and also using hacked firmare is risky, and could fry the drive
only use official firmware
just google for firmware for TDK DVDRW0404N,see what it comes up with
