I registered here just for this and Im no computer snazz, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

So the otehr day I had completed installation of my iPod and was just listening to iTunes and using AIM. I try exiting iTunes and it freezes (iTunes) and the music repeats at a certain point and becomes static. i log off and the static continues, so I shut off the computer. At first the Computer would take FOREVER to reboot, sometimes requiring me to reboot a reboot(yeah). Long story short (I guess), the drive wouldnt even open nor would it appear in device manager. Eventually the drive wouold open, but it woudlnt read any discs. THe CDROM wasnt listed in device manager. However, when I restart the computer, it reappears. With that in mind, I attempted to burn two discs...in the middle of each burn (implying that it WAS reading the disc) the burn cancelled, stating that the drive coudlnt be found, and to my anger, the drive once agian dissappeared...basically the drive appears, reads a disc, then dissappears and sometimes wont even open. PLEASE HELP this si really pissing me off. Thank a lot.

In order for people to correctly respond, you need to supply more information.

What version of iTunes, and Windows, and has it ever worked properly?

Have you tried removing iTunes?

What burning software do you have installed?

etc etc
