I recently purchased an iRiver h10 20GB that uses USB 2.0 as means of transferring songs onto the player. I am unable to do bulk file transfers because (according to other users of iRiver) my USB 2.0/motherboard chipset drivers are out of date.

I have not been able to contact the guy who said the above.

Where can I get a chipset upgrade for my dell dimension 8300 or where can I upgrade my USB 2.0 drivers??

Thanks for any help.

If you're using XP, drivers for your model Dell are available HERE (http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_8300&os=WW1&osl=EN).

If it's XP, you also need SP1 or SP2 for USB 2.0.

To check you have USB 2.0, look in Device Manager.

Start, run and type in devmgmt.msc (for XP)

Look under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, and if it says "Enhanced" or "Hi Speed", it's USB 2.0.

(BTW, if you already have USB 2.0, don't worry about what others say and just leave it)
