Well i had my computer for about 2 years now and finally something bad has happened.
I turn it on and displays my
CPU
Clock speed
Mother board
Checking IDE drives...
Then it just stops.. cant go into the bios, cant use f8.. not even a checksum error...
So i was wondering, what could be causing this type of problem?
any help is aprreciated greatly.

If it hangs when checking the drives then it`s a reasonable assumption that the fault lies there. What drives have you got in your PC?
Try accessing the BIOS before it gets to the drives, then access each drive one at a time and see which one causes the problem.
Remove any ROM drives (CD, DVD, burner etc) in case it`s one of those. Also, do you have a PCI to IDE card installed?
Give us more info on what you have in your PC.

its a pci,
AK38n mother board
amd 2400+
CD/dvdrom drive (mad dogg, dont know model atm)
cd/dvd burner (pioneer 107a)
and HArd drive,, (cant remember model type atm)
The thing is, I can't get into the bios at all, I tried repeatedly to do that and all I get is my computer to beep like when you hit too many buttons at once.
When I get back home, I will try to unplug all drives to see what that does, but should I also disconnect the HD?

Yes I would. Because if you still can`t get into the BIOS it could be a mobo fault. Have you tried clearing the BIOS (jumper on the main board)?

What do you mean the jumper on the motherboard? you mean the bios jumper or the clear cmos jumper?
Sorry after looking at the manual I see you set the cmos jumper to 2 and 3 while the comp is off for a few seconds then back to 1 and 2.
I will try that when I make it home to test this out.
