I can spend 850 -900 US dollars for a new computer. I don't play so much, my priorities are video trascoding, editing, dvd authoring, etc. What kind of computer would yo think I should get?

Thanks Insomniac May 23, 2006, 07:18 PM A decent Intel based PC, preferably with RAID 0, and as much RAM and hard drive space as you can get. (Sorry, not in your area, so I can't recommend PC manufacturers or models) Tom Croydon May 25, 2006, 08:27 AM For transcoding, authoring and SMALL editing projects, the cheapest PC you could buy would do the job for you...but if you want to do some big/complicated editing projects ( e.g. using Premiere to edit a 720 x 480 2 hour long video ) I highly recommend buying as good as an Intel based PC that you can get with as much memory as you can get...make sure it's Intel...AMD is lousy for large editing projects. You don't necessarily have to get a brand name...a clone would do...and it would be a lot cheaper. Good luck. oscar May 28, 2006, 02:02 PM Thank you to both |
