I think many rippers can settle your problem:clown: I've been using xilisoft dvd ripper 4.0
Take it for example, You need set "Start Time" and "Duration" to get the clip you want. First of all, you should highlight the tile of your DVD, which includes the main episodes of the movie. And then enter correct values for "Start Time" and "Duration", which can be found on the right. Panel of the interface For example, if you want a 3-minute-clip from the 10 minutes of the whole movie, please enter "00:10:00" for "Start Time" and "00:03:00" for duration.
Done!:p

U can save the file as any out format the ripper supports:clown:

say, xilisoft dvd ripper4.0, its output formats support VCD, SVCD, VOB, DVD, DivX, Xvid, WMV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, AVI, ASF, MP3.

so, just elect the format you want and save it!:cheers:
