Was refered to this brand by a few people. I'm in the market for a new Firewall and would like to know how this stacks up against the competition. Unfortunately, as many of you know, Zone Alarm is a major resource hog and has a negative impact on broadband performance.

Would be interested in hearing about other products as well.

Thanks in advance.

Agnitum Outpost is very good, and doesn't use as many resources as ZoneAlarm.

Arguably the best three are ZA, Agnitum and Sygate. However Sygate has been bought by Symantec, so isn't updated any longer.

I prefer ZoneAlarm, and use it on a Pentium III as well, with no impact on resources.

I'm curious to see how Zone Alarm will perform on a P IV (we're upgrading from a Celeron). Sounds like there shoudn't be any issues. If so, can always give the Agnitum a try. Thanks.
