i've samsung cdwriter, the problem is when i press the button to make tray come out it simply make sound as if its commin out but doesnt and then again press the button the light start blinking as if the writer is reading the disk.
on pressing the button continously many times the tray comes out.
secondly when i place a disk in the tray to read, it comes/thrown out again pressing many times writer take it after throwing out cd many times.

why is the cd thrown out ? well dont think that there is something wrong with the cd i've tried on many.


please some help me out, help will be greatly appreciated

This can be due to a few things.

The tray's micro switch could be faulty, and so not making contact to say that the tray is fully in or out.

Old grease could be stopping the tray from fully loading or unloading (over time with heat it can become hard and sticky).

Also it could be due to a worn drive belt, together with the above grease prob.

yeah dude i've got the same problem as you. my samsung dvd reader has a tray problem also.. it takes a few times to insert the cd inside. for example, i load the cd onto the tray, and i push the button. after awhile, the cd was not read, and it jus ejected itself automatically.

i got fed up and bought another cd-rom. haha.

It's just as easy to do this nowadays with the low cost of them.

Trying to repair them can be very difficult.
