I have a few downloaded movies (avi and an mpg), they range in file size from 697mb to 797mb. I have to get them off my pc 'cos i'm running out of space.
I tried nero 6, they were way too long, the cd will take upto 80 mins/700mb, movie is 120 mins and is 700mb. I did a google search and got the idea of splitting. Since nero 6 couldn't split the movie I got nero 7, finally managed to split the movie and discovered they are still too big, it's not the length of the movie this time (60 mins), it's the size of the file (987mb).
This is what confused me, if I split the movie in half why is each half larger than the original in it's entirety?

So my questions are:
Why does nero hate me?
How do I burn a movie to a CD-R (playable in a dvd player in, lets say, SVCD or VCD format)
Is it possible to get a movie like the one described onto 1 cd instead of 2
If so, how?


All probably stupid questions, but I have no idea what to do, and I can't find any idiot friendly instructions on the net.

Please, please, please, please, can someone help me, everything I read says split the movie, so I split the s*&#@! thing, now the two halves are larger than the original (how is this even possible?) so of course they won't fit on a cd. The only things I can think of doing are splitting the already split files again which would mean I'd have to use 4 cd's when burning (absurd, and will probably only lead to 4 parts of a movie that are still too large to burn) or waiting untill I can afford a dvd burner (nooooooooo! It's gonna take me ages)
So please if anyone has any ideas, please, please help me :bawling:

Thank you for trying to help but I already knew about that site and all it's done is inform me of the fact that nero is crap. Anyways I'm just gonna give up, I've spent all my spare time in the last two weeks trying to work this out and I don't have the head space anymore.
