I have a Playstation 2 slim version. When i'm trying to open the game, my PS2 opens up and everything but my DVD won't spin/read. It just stays there and don't spin at all. Could anybody help me please?

u didnt mention if ur ps2 has a modchip installed
u didnt give any model number of pstwo..

i guess u have scph 7000x in that case some of them are well known to be a lens fryer .

mostlikely u need to replace a len. did it myself quiete alot of time. it takes 15 minutes.

there are diffrent type of pstwo lasers. known as pvr-802w - just the lens itself.

khm-430 / spu-3170 a diffrent type of lens.

if u kinda newbie i suggest u take a pvr802w lens with a full optical block mean u get lens with the full rail and engine. costs some few bucks more but really saves time.

I have the same problem.. My slimline PS2 is a SCPH-77002, and after the number there's a small a. I have a Matrix modchip, I think it's a Matrix Infinity. Is this one of the modchips that is known to fry the lens of these models, or could there be another reason my discs won't spin?

The main reason why a disk will not spin in a PS2/cdplayer/DVD player etc is that the motor that spins the disk is faulty.

Usually you need to replace the whole laser deck.
