To back up your virus definitions, just manually download them from Norton. That is what I do. You can get them here (http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/defs.download.html).

hi m8 why dont u just do a boot up disk from nortons virus progam
look at the menu for bootup and you will need about 8disk to copy
all the files over to floppy drives
when u got a problem just use the disk to get up and going again
