Does anyone know if compaq ever made modem drivers for Win2k pc's..I have many friends who installs win2k on there compaq and modem never works!..I heard winXp pro maybe a fix for this?

Try taking the modem out and looking at the chips for serial numbers. Go to drivers.com and put those numbers in the search field. It should be a Rockwood or Rockford name (It begins with an R) and search through the drivers found. There are 2k drivers but compaq does a good job at disguising everything so that we the people can't do anything without going through them. Win xp will give you drivers but if it doesn't you'll have wasted your time. I have XP and it's great but there are certain drivers that it does not install. Good luck!!
